May 4, 2012 – May 8, 2012

Growing year-on-year, Asia’s largest regatta, the Top of the Gulf Regatta, continues to lead the way with organisers at full pace preparing for the 8th Regatta in 2012. Scheduled to run 4th to 8th May, over the long weekend celebrating His Majesty the King of Thailand’s Coronation, the Regatta will feature a diverse fleet from Optimists to state-of-the-art racing keelboats from around Asia and beyond.

Negotiations are being finalized for a two day extreme sailboard event in association with Neil Pryde, as well as possibly adding a Bic Open dinghy class or division. The Regatta continues to lead from the front and innovate.

Organisers have been informed of additional TP 52 yachts considering to compete. To accommodate these yachts, Ocean Marina has been dredged providing an additional 1.5 metre draft to 3.5 meters at LLW, and the new pontoons are under final negotiation for completion in time for the Regatta, thus providing moorings for the additional visiting yachts and support vessels needed to run the event.

The majority of our supporting sponsors are already back on board and negotiations are well in hand for 2012 Co-Sponsors. We again take this opportunity to thank our generous anonymous donor who helped us in 2011.

We look forward to welcoming you to the 8th Top of the Gulf Regatta in May 2012.
